Date : 23-02-2569Time : 00.00 น.      SAKON NAKHON, THAILAND — Bridging the gap between higher education and rural communities, Kasetsart University recently launched a major community service and academic outreach initiative in northeastern Thailand. Running from February 20 to 23, 2026, the Academic Community Service and Networking Volunteer Camp brought university resources directly to Ban Na Kab Kae School. The event was a cornerstone of the university's "ONE AGGIE KU TOGETHER" mission, a landmark collaboration uniting three of its distinct agricultural faculties. Students in Action Asst. Prof. Dr. Chaisit Thongjoo, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture Kamphaeng Saen, spearheaded the initiative. He led a dedicated team of university executives, staff, and 15 student volunteers. Their mission for the 2025 academic year camp was clear: deliver hands-on academic support to the rural school and build lasting, positive relationships with the local community. A Historic Leadership Summit Beyond grassroots outreach, the camp served as a high-level summit for the university’s agricultural leaders. Dr. Chaisit was joined by his academic counterparts: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Patchareeya Boonkorkaew, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture Asst. Prof. Dr. Supasit Sitthapanich, Dean of the Faculty of Natural Resources and Agro-Industry The deans and their executive teams used the gathering to exchange innovative management strategies and align their visions for the future of Thailand's agricultural education. Exploring Future Farming To conclude the collaborative weekend, the leadership teams toured Kasetsart University's Chalermphrakiat Sakon Nakhon Province Campus. The executives visited operational facilities and state-of-the-art experimental plots managed by the Faculty of Natural Resources and Agro-Industry, gaining firsthand insights into localized, cutting-edge agricultural research. This joint initiative highlights Kasetsart University’s dedication to academic excellence, inter-faculty collaboration, and meaningful community impact.
